I am continually amazed at how little average business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales professionals invest in themselves. They have no problem dropping several thousand dollars a year on entertainment and vacations, but ask them what was the last book they read or the last seminar they attended and you generally get a blank stare. Don’t let that be you!

Where are your priorities when it comes to personal and professional development?

Would you agree that you are working at a distinct disadvantage if you are operating your business with knowledge you gained many years ago? Would you visit a doctor or dentist who did not maintain their license with updated continuing education? Of course not!

IN THE BOOK I walk you through an exercise to assess your real priorities.

One Possible Solution Offered in The Termite Effect:

  • Invest in an iPod or an MP3 Player and investigate sites like Simplyaudiobooks.com or Audible.com which are similar to Netflix except they send you audiobooks. Your local library probably has an audiobook library. Get the CDs, rip them to your PC, and sync them to your MP3 or iPod. Think about how much time you waste every week sitting in traffic and watching mind-numbing TV.

Replace those activities with personal development activities. Zig Ziglar calls this “Automobile University”. Turn your commute into a Learning Zone.
